Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Velora Labs (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides the Aeryx sports performance tracking application for Android (iOS coming soon). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with your use of Aeryx (“Service”).

By using Aeryx, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

2. Information We Collect

Location Data

Aeryx requests access to your device’s GPS location while a session is active. We use location data to:

• Record the geographic coordinates of your session start point
• Reverse-geocode coordinates into a human-readable place name (e.g., “Central Park”)
• Determine whether a new session should continue a recent nearby session in the same sport

Raw GPS coordinates are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers except as part of optional session backup features. On iOS, background location access is used solely to maintain session continuity while the app is backgrounded during an active tracking session.

Motion and Sensor Data

Aeryx reads accelerometer data from your device’s motion sensors during active sessions to compute performance metrics including intensity, burst count, change-of-direction count, and movement quality. This data is:

• Processed on-device in real time
• Stored locally as summarized session metrics and raw samples
• Never streamed to external servers in real time

Session and Performance Data

Session records — including start/end time, duration, sport type, metrics, and quality score — are stored in an on-device database (SQLite). This data may be synced to our cloud infrastructure (AWS) to enable features such as cross-device history and platform-level analytics. Cloud-stored data is associated with an anonymous device identifier and is not linked to your name or email address unless you create an account.

Device and Technical Information

We may collect basic technical information such as device operating system version and app version to diagnose bugs and improve compatibility. We do not collect advertising identifiers or use device fingerprinting.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the core tracking features of the app
• Compute and display performance metrics and quality scores
• Enable session history, trends, and cross-session comparisons
• Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
• Generate aggregate, anonymized platform statistics (e.g., popular sports)

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to build advertising profiles.

4. Data Storage and Security

All session data is stored primarily on your device using SQLite. Data that is synced to our cloud is stored in AWS DynamoDB, protected by IAM access controls and encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS).

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

Aeryx uses the following platform services which may process data on our behalf:

• Apple CLGeocoder / Android Geocoder — used to resolve GPS coordinates into place names. Coordinates are sent to Apple’s or Google’s servers for this purpose and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
• AWS (Amazon Web Services) — cloud infrastructure for optional session storage and platform statistics.

We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel), or social login providers.

6. Data Retention

On-device data is retained until you delete the app or clear its data. Cloud-synced data is retained while your account or device record is active. You may request deletion of your cloud data at any time by contacting us at aeryx@veloralabs.app.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for location or sensor access via your device settings
• Object to certain processing of your data

8. Children’s Privacy

Aeryx is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of Aeryx after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
